Whether you’re in it for fun, or are serious about learning how to weave, my workshops are beginner friendly and accessible. During the workshop, I will provide instructions based on the needs and wishes of the group.
In my weaving workshops, the focus is on playing with colors and patterns. The loom is always set up and ready to go when you arrive, so you don’t have to spend hours dressing the loom yourself.
I offer a 15,- euro discount to students. Also, please enquire to discuss a group discount.
In this beginner workshop, you’ll weave a 30cm by 40cm guest towel for your bathroom or kitchen. Because the loom is dressed with a white warp, there’s lots of room to make your own color choices. Here is an example from one of my workshops of what a guest towel might look like.

In the workshop, you’ll learn:

4 spot(s) left. Liskwartier, Rotterdam
11:00 – 16:00 €95,00
includes lunch and drinks
I recommend completing my other workshop “Weave your own guest towel” first, so you’re familiar with basic weaving techniques.
In this intermediate level workshop, you’ll weave a 30cm by 30cm piece of art using an inlay technique. Inlay means that you weave additional colored threads into a plain background cloth to create shapes and forms. The loom will be dressed with a white warp, which gives you lots of options for color choices for your inlay. If you’re already feeling inspired, you’re welcome to bring your design with you!

I want to share the art of weaving with the world. I am continuously inspired by how vast the options in techniques, materials and colors are. Someone once told me you could spend a decade studying one weaving technique and still learn new things.
It all started when I was a child. I was introduced to the concept of weaving by a great aunt of mine, who was a textile artist and tapestry weaver. I was fascinated by the idea of being able to create a strong cloth out of all these tiny threads. After this moment, weaving left my mind for quite a while, until I found the a green book in a second hand book store. The book contained many patterns for warp and weft coming together into a fabric. Instantly, the memories of my great aunt flooded back and I knew that I would one day learn how to weave.
In 2023, I started my journey of becoming a weaver. In the following two years, I studied and honed my skills at the weaving academy of the renowned Dutch weaver Sytze Roos. The first time I set foot in the workshop, I fell in love with the scent of the linseed oil of the looms and the rhythmical sound of the beating of the weft. Under Sytzes guidance, I developed a strong skill base in setting up a loom and learned to weave, mainly using Scandinavian techniques.
It takes a lot of time to produce a length of cloth, but the feeling of taking it off the loom is indescribable. It’s a magical moment, especially when shared with others. I invite you to try it for yourself.
